Hello all of you lovely people,
My name is Adam Workman, and I am reaching out on behalf of ThinkTankTYA with an opportunity for a very cool and meaningful part-time gig. ThinkTank has partnered with the University of Tampa to assist with their Standardized Patient Program. UT has a state of the art facility, and this revolutionary program is a super neat way to train doctors in a very real simulation, starring you!
Where do you come in? I am getting together a troupe of local actors to be the "standardized patients" for the students. These actors would be given an ailment or injury, with a patient history, and be expected to partake in a mock interview/ exam with the student. Obviously, a comfort with improvisation is a plus, but by no means a necessity. UT offers workshops to fully prepare you, so you can go into the room with confidence, and act!
This, of course, is a PAID GIG! What we are trying to do is solidify a rather large troupe, so whenever the exams are, we are able to supply however many actors are needed. You would be compensated hourly for your services, both for the initial workshop, and then for any exams you are called for.
What do I need from you? Really, I just need to know if you are interested. Ideally, you would be available for the short meet/information session on the evening of October 28. Not a dealbreaker. Feel free to bring any questions to me. I am very excited to be leading this project, and hope you will come along on this cool journey with ThinkTank, UT, and myself.
