Gen Next Writes!

Are you a teen playwright residing in the Tampa Bay Area?

 

ThinkTank Theatre is seeking original short works (10-20 min) from area teens, 13-19, who reside in the Tampa Bay Area! Selected Gen Next Writes plays will be featured as part of our 2024 TYA Playwrights Festival, which takes place in August. Each play selected will receive a full reading including an ensemble of professional actors as well as members of ThinkTank's Young Artists' Ensemble Apprentice Company, two free tickets to our main stage festival production, and a $50.00 honorarium for allowing us to produce a reading of your play!

Guidelines to Submit: 

• The playwright must be between 13-19 years old to participate.

• The playwright must currently reside in the Tampa Bay area.

• The play must be between 10-20 minutes

• The cast shouldn't require more than 8 actors. (If there are more than 8 characters, please include a list of which roles can be doubled by the same actor.)

• Submit your full script via this form by Monday, July 17th, 2024. 

• The playwright must be able to attend the 2024 Gen Next Writes Festival Rehearsal and Showcase in-person (Sunday, August 25th).

 

ThinkTank's 2024 TYA Playwright's Festival will be at JCC Cohn Campus August 22-26, 2024.

 

The rehearsal and performance for the plays selected for the Gen Next Writes Festival will take place on Sunday, August 25th.
