ThinkTank Theatre will be holding auditions for its

upcoming production of

In collaboration with freeFall Theatre's Tandem Series​

 

ThinkTank is seeking actors to join us as we venture to Bikini Bottom and save the world! See all the details below in the casting breakdown section.
 

Round 1 Video Submission:

Please submit a video, approximately one minute in length, with a song that showcases your range in the style of the show. 

You are welcome to submit a song from the production. 

Please fill out the audition form below and then submit your video to

The best means for video submission is via a Youtube, Vimeo, Google Drive or Dropbox link.

Please ensure your settings allow us to view the link.

Please do not send files. Links Only.

Video Submissions are due by midnight on Thursday, April 9th, 2026.

​

 

Round 2 Callbacks:
Callbacks will take place Sunday, April 19th, 2026 from 6:00-10:00pm in the TampaRep Studio Space at the Kress Contemporary located in Tampa's Ybor City District.

Those selected to callbacks will be given an hour block for to attend callbacks.

The callbacks will consist of songs from the show and a dance call. 

​

All those auditioning will be notified after the video submission round if we would like to have them attend the callbacks. 


The SpongeBob Musical Runs August 13th-23rd at freeFall Theatre as a component of freeFall's Tandem Series

Rehearsals will begin the week of July 13th. 

​

All professional cast are paid. AEA and Non-Union are welcome to audition.​

We cannot provide housing for this production.

SEEKING:

​

An ensemble of energetic, comedic  actors /singers/dancers/movers with a solid grasp of for these heartfelt characters and community. All roles are open to diverse and nontraditional casting options. 

​

Open to Union and Non-Union Actors.

 

Member of ThinkTank's Young Artists' Ensemble Intern Company, area high schoolers ages 15-18, will also take part in the production. 

 

Character Descriptions:

​

SpongeBob SquarePants (Range: C3-B4) optimistic, innocent; energetic and sometimes hyperactive. This actor should move well and be an extremely physical actor - unafraid of climbing and being on tall objects. Naturally funny with great comedic skills and precision. Strong pop tenor.

​

Sandy Cheeks (Range: A3-E5) A brainy athletic Texan squirrel who came to Bikini Bottom for a research project. SpongeBob's most trusted ally on their quest to stop the volcano from erupting. Martial Arts skills a plus but not required unafraid of climbing and being on tall objects.

​

Patrick Star (Range: Bb2-Bb4) Well-intentioned, but clueless, an innocent; a big softie, who can also be prone to sudden child-like fits of rage or frustration.

​

Squidward Q. Tentacles (Range: A2-F#4) Grumpy, cynical, dry, short tempered, generally negative but lovable! This Actor must move well. Strong tapper preferred.

​

Eugene Krabs (Range: B2-Bb4) The greedy owner of the Krusty Krab, and employer of SpongeBob and Squidward. Does whatever he can to make himself richer.

​

Sheldon J. Plankton (Range: B2-G#4) His personality outweighs his size- slick, scheming, nefarious; has the ability to charm; determined, he will do anything to get ahead in life; but his heart is still open enough to rekindle a romance with his wife. This character will need to dance and rap.

​

Karen the Computer (Range: G#3-F#5) Sassy, the computer wife of Plankton. She's been there for Plankton's every scheme and plot. Strong comic actress, as well as Singer and Mover.

​

Pearl Krabs (Range:Bb3-F#5) Mr. Krabs' teenaged daughter who just wants to be understood by her father and sing with the Electric Skates. This is a character role with Gospel vocal overtones.

​

The Mayor of Bikini Bottom (Range: F#4-B5) Standard Politician, prone to some fits of terror

​

Perch Perkins (Range: E2-E4) Feisty News reporter

​

Patchy the Pirate (Range: D3-F4 F5 falsetto) Misunderstood pirate from the painting

​

And other featured ensemble roles!

The roles of Sheldon, Karen, Pearl, The Mayor, Perch and Patchy will double out with other ensemble roles.
